Los Angeles is bipolar. Yes, yes we live in a "mild" climate zone, but this oscillating 80 and 65 degree weather is driving me to my breaking point. Thus, today's shoot was a very unpleasant, nonstop game of "Take off Sweater, Get too Cold. Put on Sweater, Get too Hot". And, while an equestrian boot and denim pairing is always wonderful, this wasn't exactly the most practical outfit for the location.
That being said, I was recently gifted this great Ralph Lauren Indian Cove bag that coincidentally perfectly matches my shoes. The horseshoe shape is vaguely reminiscent of the Chloe Marcie bag and fits along quite nicely with the overall equestrian theme. The extremely impractical (yet oh so gorgeous) shearling coat tops the entire outfit off quite nicely. In creating a basic fall outfit, I tend to follow a very basic formula for layering: simple tops, thicker denim, tall boots, and very chunky outerwear. Tying a scarf I found at a Parisian vintage store around my leg gives a basic outfit a bit of a twist. (And also makes everyone at Trader Joes think you're dressed as a pirate)
