On Fridays I spend my spare time playing in the sand, wishing I looked as effortlessly chic as the Valentino S/S 2015 campaign.
It was quite amusing, actually. There was a flock (school? herd? pod? clowder?) of surfers out in the water that was visibly perplexed by the strange girl repeatedly throwing handfuls of sand everywhere. It was immensely enjoyable, to say the least.
Anyhow, today's look is ridiculously simple and incredibly comfortable. The Breton striped shirt tucked into relaxed AA shorts and the espadrilles are oddly very retro feeling, and I think the Binocular case -- a vintage find from Santa Barbara -- amplifies the theme. I've recently started liking the look of wicker and woven accessories, actually, so rediscovering this binocular case behind another bag yesterday was a very satisfying moment. Hopefully we'll start to see more wicker accessories in greater quantity in the coming seasons.
On a side note, I'd like to give you a taste of what's to come for the next volume of our Spotlight Series. Next month's featured artist will be Grimes, so keep an eye out for a new post in the next week! In the meantime, catch up on this past month's artist, Glass Animals, under the Spotlight tab above.
