Abiders of 1970's aesthetic, rejoice! The seventies are back this season in a big way. In what has been one of my favorites in recent seasons, a great deal of the seventies revival can be seen in Chloe's latest collection. With crochet trim, camel colored leather, chiffon, and strappy sandals galore, it's a bonafide throwback to the halcyon days of the flower child. If it so happens that bell bottoms, turtlenecks, and bowl-cuts (This is where I firmly offer my veto.) aren't your thing, no need to fear; there are much more subtle ways of maneuvering this sartorial landscape without completely committing.
Today's look is a bit of a hybrid; it combines a vintage Bongo dress (a label synonymous with the 1980's) with a chiffon Haute Hippie peasant shirt (something far more akin to the bohemian influences of the seventies). The boots, bag -- Yes, I do confess to intentionally matching this time. Sue me. -- and hat elevate the look from what, in all honesty, may have looked completely ridiculous, to a revamped version of older trends.
P.S. Let's all just forget the multitude of unintentional (I stress that word) solar flares in the photos ever happened.
